You may or may not know that I run an offline business. It's a pressure washing company here in Central Florida. While I was cleaning this home, the owner and I were talking about the nextdoor neighbor. He was telling me that they were interested in my services.
During the conversation he said something that made my day. He told me that he told the neighbor that they could give me the keys to their house. Now, I do hear this a lot from my customers.
Why would someone tell their neighbor this?
What I’m going to share with you works in an offline as well as an online business. I sometimes feel that most people miss this step when they’re trying to run a business, but today I’m going to share with you that secret.
What is the biggest issue people face every day?
Well, I’m just going to flat out tell you. PEOPLE DON’T TRUST ANYONE TODAY!
Why is that? Is it because people actually give people what they want? I’m afraid not. I want to share with you just a few key things that can help you build trust with your customers.
These are just a few key points that will help you begin to get trust with your customers.
1. Listen More, Speak Less
We've been given two ears and one mouth and we need to use them accordingly. Listen to what your customers are saying is vital to running a successful online business.

2. Be Customer Focused, Not Money Focused
There is a misconception that if we figure out how much money we want to make, we'll make it. Umm, wrong! Now don't get me wrong. We need to have goals of how much money we'd like to make each month, but how are you going to get it? Through having a customer based business. So wouldn't it benefit you to be thinking about the customers need and not how much you'll make? In the end, if you treat the customer right, they'll treat you right.
3. Provide Exceptional Customer Service
I see this every day how this is being used incorrectly. Businesses will tell you they have great customer service, but when you need something done, you get treated like crap. So many marketers can definitely use a crash course on customer service.
The whole point about customer service is to make sure your customers are still happy with their decision on buying your product. If they have an issue with the product, don't chew their head off because they have an issue. Don't make your customers feel stupid for sending in a request. You politely answer them with a positive response and you encourage them with the right answer.

4. Create A Product That's Built to Last
Come on, let's face it. There are so many products out there that are just not good, but people still buy them. Why? Because they think they're getting something new, but all they're getting is an old product slapped with a new logo on it. Don't let this be you.
Now, I'm not talking about creating a product and updating the software. However, I am talking about creating a product that's just been rebranded, but the mechanics are the same. That's not creating a new product.
We must create products that are unique and adds different value to the marketplace rather than saturating the marketplace with stale products. Do your research. Ask potential buyers what they're interested in buying. They're the ones buying the products anyways. Why not give them what they want.
5. Make Sure The Customer is Satisfied From Start To Finish
This is one of the most simplest thing a business owner can do, yet they can mess it up as well. If someone has bought a great product, don't blow it with poor customer service. On the other hand, don't promote a crappy product and then try to hide it behind poor customer service. It won't work.
You must develop a business plan that has a product that exceptional as well as great customer service to back it up. Without both, your business may not be around for very long.
